The United Kingdom

¿Is there a difference between the customs and tradicions from England and from Mexico?

One example of this is that in England people use to drink tea all the days at 5 o'clock because they love spending time with their families; otherwise, in Mexico we don't use to spend time with our families at this time of the day.

But we have to remember that in Mexico families are very close to each other so if we do not spend time with the people we love at 5 o’clock, we spend almost every Sunday or Saturday.

I think that this custom in England it’s a little bit strange because they can spend their time doing other activities such as playing board games, videogames or cooking something delicious, they prefer drinking tea that, in my opinion, isn’t the perfect activity for spending time with the family.

But, is there another tradition that is different between this two amazing countries?

Yes, Christmas is one of the most important celebrations around the world and the one that closes the families ties.

But, have you ever ask yourself, how Christmas is celebrated in England?

Apparently not many changes are in the way in which this date is celebrated, people sing carols whether at home or at the street, a Christmas tree is placed in the middle of the room or beside a fireplace and the gifts that each year a magical being (Santa) brings children. But, if there are also several changes in England, for example, every Christmas people hide a chocolate and a photo of the person that they love and the other need to find it and in several places people gift you "crackers" which are small gifts that need be opened by pulling the ends of the box.
