Missionaries of Charity
Once upon a time I heard talk about a woman named Teresa of Calcutta, and then I fell in love with that person who only sought the good of his neighbour, a woman who left her life for her you need it most, his life has been an example around the world, I have read about his life, I have researched about his philosophy and what has been the legacy that she left the world.
In October 1950, Mother Teresa received permission from the Vatican to create their own religious congregation that the Vatican initially called Diocesan Congregation of Calcutta Diocese, but which is globally known as the Missionaries of Charity, the mission said by Mother Teresa " the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the lepers, all those people who feel unwanted, rejected, unloved, to bring them back into society, that society for which they have become a burden and avoid them. She started with just 12 members in Calcutta and today there are more than 5,000 nuns serving orphanages, hospices for AIDS victims, charity centres, refugees, alcoholics, disabled, poor, homeless, victims of floods, epidemics and famine worldwide, with centres in Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America, Europe and Australia.
Some people believe that to help the poor, they have to be rich, but they are wrong. Mother Teresa realized that to understand the needs of the poor people was conveniently try to be really poor.
He started a school for children, but as he had no chairs or blackboard and chalk, teaching writing in the sand soil. Gradually material was obtained to serve to children, but it was given away, someone donated a table, another person gave a trunk, also gave wooden boxes to use as seats, and a man handed the second floor of his home.
And to date the order of the Missionaries of Charity and the Missionaries of Charity Brothers holds the same way: all their houses, furniture and general equipment have been donated by someone.
If Mother Teresa travelled by plane, bus or train was because transport companies regaled her tickets, not because she had pockets full of money, and they came to get it used to serve the poor. Moreover, rejected all honours class that could give him, and so when she received the Nobel Peace Prize 1979, asked to will not do the traditional feast, but it would be best to be destined to help the poor, the money it would have cost.
Personally to me future chef as I would like to know what is Indian culture, and if I can also help by giving the little that is something that really excites me, my plan is to India in December next year and introduce myself as collaborator for a month, giving away my time in the house of mother Teresa helping cook for the hungry, providing my knowledge in nutrition to support malnourished and give them the opportunity to eat better.
Go in December is something hard for me because it means having to leave my family at Christmas
