In the blink of an eye
Two days ago, I had an experience that changed my whole perspective about life, and how I was appreciating it. Weeks before the incident I questioned God if he loved me, I was feeling alone and sad because I felt like nothing was working the way I wanted it to work, so I asked him if he really cared about me.
This last week, I had been having dreams about myself having serious accidents in which I resulted being injured seriously or harmless, but I really didn’t care, I just saw that as a dream and give it no appreciation.
So it happened last Tuesday. I had a sleepover at a friend’s house on Monday so mom picked me up early at the morning on Tuesday, on our way home, I told her I wanted to arrive home as fast as I could so I could go to the gym, because it was going to close early. Mom told me that she was going to drive me to the gym, so that I needed to wait for her to do some stuff. I got very pissed, my dad took my car to his office and there was no car at my house that I could drive so I needed to wait for my mother, so I was really, really mad. About 3 hours passed, I didn’t plan to go to the gym anymore, and then my father arrived with my car, so I hurried and went to the gym.
Meanwhile I was training, a friend called me and invited me to church but I refused and said I had plans already. Everything was fine but I was having a strange feeling, so I decided to go to a friend’s house.
I was driving to my friend’s house and suddenly something hit my car so hard, it passed al the way trough the avenue from the first right lane until a park. I was so lucky that any car had hit me while I was going through the other lanes, by not crashing with an electricity tower and a tree. It all happened in the blink of an eye. I remained unconscious, and had a strange vision.
I just remember I drove under the electricity tower trying to control my car, and when it stopped moving, a bunch of people told me that I had crossed all the avenue. Then a man went close to me and told me: “Girl, I really don’t know how you survived in one piece, you must have a big angel.”
This was a moment that really changed my life, it teached me so hard to appreciate my life and what I have and to understand that God is here, always and everywhere, and to see things differently, everything can happen in a second so I have promised myself, to see things from the positive way, and to enjoy every single second of my life.
