SAMANAS

In the evening of the day Govinda and Siddhartha decided to go with the samanas and they offered to join them. Siddhartha gave his garments to a poor Brahman. The first day Siddhartha fasted for fifteen days and then for twenty-eight days.

He saw many strange things, Siddhartha said it all stank of lies, it all pretended to be meaningful and joyful and beautiful, and it all was just concealed putrefaction. The world tasted bitter. Life was torture.

Siddhartha had a goal, to become empty, empty of the thirst, empty of wishing, empty of dreams and empty of the joy and sorrow. Siddhartha said that dead the ego he could find better things, the great secret.

Siddhartha wanted to find himself. Siddhartha was instructed by the oldest of the Samanas. Siddhartha learn a lot of things like how to be patient, to get away from the pain, forget yourself and be one with nature.

Siddhartha learned to walk different paths to get away of self. Siddhartha kept all these methods but he felts that all that he know wasn’t enough and Siddhartha want to know more to have more wisdom. Siddhartha walks by a desire to somewhat vague but determined to achieve personal perfection.

In all his path was Govinda, always with him. Siddhartha started to consider the life of the Samanas. Siddhartha felt far from wisdom, with all his exercises and his drinking of them .Siddhartha and Govinda was talking about this and Govinda felt that what Siddhartha was saying were a things very horrible.

Siddhartha had examined Brahmans and many but nobody has taught him what he wants to know. After many years of training, and suffering, reaches a man named Gotama, the majestic, the Buddha, in his person had overcome the pain of the world and had stopped the wheel of reincarnation.

One day Govinda said to Siddhartha, that they could go to the gotama, and listen his teachings themselves. Siddhartha was agreed to go and they went to the oldest Samana to said his decision. When Siddhartha and Govinda were saying to the oldest Samana, the oldest Samana became very angry and, began to curse, but Siddhartha closely in front of the Samana and said, "Now, I want to show the old man that I've learned something from him." And he started to capture the old man, Siddharta captured the old man's glance with his glances, deprived him of his power, made him mute, took away his free will, subdued him under his own will, commanded him, to do silently, whatever he demanded him to do. The old man bowed several times and wished them a good trip. And they left.
