The Japan Meteorological Agency said, “The earthquake created a tsunami waves up to 40.5 meters.” and they also said that the japanese population had suffered the most powerful earthquake in Japan to date, as well as the fifth most powerful in the world of all earthquakes measured to date .

The Geological Survey of the United States said, “The first magnitude was calculated at 7.9 degrees, which was later increased to 8.8, then to 8.9 degrees and finally 9.0 degrees on the Ritcher scale.” The earthquake lasted about six minutes according to seismologists.
