Book Report (Outline)

The fifth Mountain

I. Introduction.

The main character in the novel is a biblical character, the prophet Elijah. In the novel the author tells us that all human destiny planned by God so as to accomplish a particular task as the "possibilities of each." Therefore, any barrier that stands to be regarded as "a pretext to test our strength," one should never give up. So while there are steps to fulfill our dream or mission, you have to be aware that the first "beat" is ourselves, because God gives us "a lot of opportunities," On the way to fulfill our mission there is no tragedy, but the inevitable, you just need to distinguish what is temporary (the inevitable) than definitive (the lessons of the inevitable). For any unavoidable situation before thinking about the future must "reconstruct the past" based on "the good things we did." You should also remember that we have to go through different stages in our lives to reach the goal. At some point in our history it is necessary to deal with God: he may protest, demand that something, ask questions, ask for explanations, even doubt its existence. This will help us measure our own strength. Any soreness should counter it with action, and if you look (or projects) always what we want any discouragement disappear. Prayer: "good is evil disguised, but still good, and part of the plan that He created for mankind" may mean that the apparent failures in life we are used by God to fulfill their purposes. Interestingly, the fiction that Coelho adds to the story of Elijah, is not at odds with the biblical account.

Elijah, one of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament in the Bible, is considered by some experts in exegesis as a minor prophet, not even have a proper book, appears in First Kings chapter 17, that is, who thus becomes a valuable lesson of hope for modern man, and raises us to what extent we can determine our fate, do not leave any writing done for him. Suddenly the impressive figure of the prophet sent from God, suddenly appears and all you know of its origin is recounted in the Bible as "Elijah the Tishbite of Tesbis in Gilead." Paulo Coelho, this character recreates the richness of his fertile imagination. The religio-historical context in which it operates the Prophet gives a lot to deal. Elias, denounces and confronts the King of Israel (in short for that, among other things, are the prophets in Israel) as this gave the claims of his wife Queen consisting worship gods Philistines, Canaanites, Sidonie and creating Jete altars for sacrifices of all kinds immolate and worship. Queen Jezebel of Israel was of Sidonius (Lebanese) worshiped Baal and the entourage of gods who were with him including the goddess Asherah. The purpose was to introduce, at any cost, the culture of those nations that Israel is a monotheistic nation.
