The Lady in White.
The story begins when  John, a TV producer, who after making a successful TV programe about the relationship between the mind and the body, wants to make another one but this time about urban myths. So he wants his assistant, Jenny, to look for some stories to talk about.

That day John wanted to celebrate the success of his work, and he called his wife to tell her the good news.

While the phone was ringing he remembered that his wife, Rachel, had been weird those days, since a night in which she had woken up in the middle of the night after having a nightmare about Patrick, her baby son. Since that night she had been afraid of cars and she didn’t separate of Patrick anytime.

But when Rachel answered the phone, she seemed to be alright again. She was excited about her son’s birthday. John decided to go to Ireland in a little holiday both to celebrate his success and Patrick’s birthday.
Ireland was the place where Rachel and John had gone on their first holidays together.

Before John’s leaving, Jenny wanted him to talk about some stories she had found to make the tv programe. She was really interested in a story about a hitch hiker who had appeared to 3 men of different places in the same road in London so she showed him a cassette in which a man was telling the strange event.

The man told that he had been driving in a lonely road when suddenly he saw a woman dressed in white at the side making signs. He offered to give her a lift and she agreed, but he felt uncomfortable since she got onto the car. She wanted him to leave her on the nearest garage he could find, and told him that she was with a friend on the car and it was crashed so she was going to ask for help. He felt confused because he hadn’t seen any car. When he looked at her, he noticed that her face was wet because she was crying but he didn’t ask for reasons.

As John was listening to the story, he was getting pale and uncomfortable. He thought it was a joke from Jenny because it had been exactly the way in which he had met his wife. But he kept listening anyway.

This time the man was telling that the woman started to scream and she took the steering wheel, like if she was trying to take the car out of control, and she succeed. When the man could take the control again, the woman got off the car and went away walking. When the man tried to catch her, he didn’t find her. It was like she had disappeared on the road.

John was moving his head side to side and he said that that was not the real story.

Jenny was frightened of that because she didn’t know what John was saying.

John invited her to go to the place where that woman had appeared, but nothing happened that day. He told Jenny that he and Rachel had met in there while he was driving and she was standing at the side of the road as a hitch hiker. But Rachel didn’t scream or took the steering wheel, she talked to him all the way. Then they went to a police station to get information about any accident that could have been happened in there. The policeman told them that a woman and her baby had died when her car hit a tree.
