The movie it’s about a physiological experiment in which 26 persons will be divided into groups acting as prison guards and inmates. The main characters are Travis, a proud anti-war protestor playing as an inmate, and Michael Barris, a 42-year-old man who still lives with his domineering mother, playing as a prison guard. The experiment consists in 6 guards and 20 inmates, the rules are simply:

Prisoners must eat, and fully consume, 3 meals a day; there will be 30 minutes of daily recreation; prisoners must remain within designated areas. The guards in turn must ensure prisoners obey the rules, and deal with transgressions commensurately within 30-minutes, if any of the rules are broken the experiment it’s over, but if they succeed on play by the rules for two weeks they will earn 14,000.

 As the film progress the guards will increase their power thirsts and inmates their rebellious personality and the main characters will have their encounters.

At the ending the two weeks has almost pass but the inmates has already start to rebel against the guards, because of their bad treat, and they start a final fight were guards are almost killed but they stop because of the red light goes on, the experiment it’s over and they return home, and the director of the experiment is on trial for manslaughter.

My ending

… When Travis was released he escapes the boiler pipe and went to free the others inmates when in his way he saw guard Chase about to rape another inmate, infuriating him more, he hit him in the head. He then release the other inmates and start chasing the others guards.

When he entered a room he saw the only guard that try to help them, Benjy, but at this point he was already blinded from the anger he was feeling, that let him there to die, and continue on his search for the rests of the guards.

At the end the inmates have already cornered the guards in a room, as Barris was trying to make the others guards stayed so they could still earn the money he actually wanted to keep the power he had never had, because of this the other tried to run but the inmates got them, and the fight begun. The inmates were so mad that they didn’t realized that they have killed the guards, because the red sign never went off, because the police have already in prison the director so there was no one to stop them. When the door got open the inmates were surprised to see the police standing in front of them watching them with blood on their hands and the guards laying there. Travis final dialogue is given while he is taken to the patrol, saying people can change but the change can be a bad one, and that everyone is capable of doing something violent.
