Career Plan Building Activity: Competencies and Career Interests Profiler

By analyzing and understanding my personal competencies would help me become a better communicator and manager by showing which are my strengths and weaknesses in the business areas. This would help me not to be driven by emotions, or thoughts but to do a rational thinking of the different situations that might arise inside my business. While becoming a better manager and communicator, every aspect of every situation must come to attention and in order to make decisions one must analyze and determine which is the best solution.

In my areas of business, I might need some changes in regards of my communications techniques. I deal with different friends that have become clients over the years. I have changed most of the communications techniques in order to show a more professional and caring business relation. This changes, helped me keep friends as clients and to make the clients friends.

There are some competencies that I must focus on in order to adapt my communication techniques. These competencies are: Researching, Adapting to Change, and Goal Focus. These three competencies are the ones that are the weakest on my list, and are the ones I need to develop and keep in mind while changing my communication techniques. As for Innovating, Entrepreneurial Thinking, and Taking Initiative, since are my strengths, the do tend to come more natural into my communications, so I do have to keep that in mind in order to maintain a balanced communication techniques.
