2. Certification means formal recognitioin by a private group or a state agency that a person has satisfied the groups standards of ability, knowledge and competence; ordinarily accomplished by taking a examination (CLA) or (CP) is a legal assistant whose legal competency has been certified by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) follwing an examination that tests the legal assistants knowledge and skills. (APC) is a credential awarded by the National Association of Legal Assistants to a certified paralegal. (CP) or certified legal assistant (CLA) whose competency in a legal speciality has been certified based on a examination of the paralegals knowledge and skills in the speciality area. (PACE) is when paralegals who have at least two years of work experience and who have met specific educational requirements can take the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE) through NFPA. The PACE is broken down into two test, one on general issues and ethics and one on speciality areas.
3. Ananlylical Skills is gathering and ananlyzing certain types of data communication skills. * How well a legal professional can communicate with clients, witnessess, court judges, and juries, opposing attorneys, and others. * Reading skills- being able to read and comprehend many different types of written materials, including statues and court decisions. * Speaking skills- using correct grammer, being precise and clear in communicating ideas or faxts to others. * Listening skills- following instructions carefully, to understand instructions. * Writing skills- letters to clients, witness, court clerks, and other must be clear and well organized and must follow the rules of grammer and punctuation. * Computer skills- experience in word processing and some data entry skills. * Organizational skills- organize files, create procedures and checklists, and keep things running smoothly. * Interpersonal skills- the ability to communicate and interact effectively with other people. The ability to keep confidences, keeping client info. confindential, professionalism and responsible tand reliable in order to learn the respect and trust of the attorneys and clients with whom you work. ** Yes i do!
