Srengths
• Has developed aggressive sales strategies, trying to get where others fail.
• It has achieved quality certifications.
• Has achieved a high degree of specialization and technology in its production processes.
• It has been acquiring a high brand recognition.
• Has a capacity to adapt its products and services according to its customer needs.
Weaknesses
• According to records of other companies, like its competitor Holcim, Cemex has higher prices.
• Looking at its financial statements it has a significant loss in operations with other countries.
• Authorization process is delayed because of bureaucracy, even in countries like the situation that happened in Venezuela.
Opportunities
• There is an emerging stability and growth in the Mexican economy, after the recent economic problems.
• Has very little competition in the Mexican market.
• It can concentrate on marketing strategies to demonstrate the choice of the Mexican market proving to be a national company and committed with the country.
Threats
• Some political and legal factors in certain countries can impede the access of the company.
• There are foreign cement companies well positioned to compete strongly for foreign markets.
• U.S. economic recession can still continue to affect local operations.
• According to the magnitude that has managed the company, any change in the global economy has a direct impact on its operations.
