The Importance of feedback in the classes.
Feedback is the information a student receives after they have completed a piece of work. The piece of work or assignment can take a variety of forms, for example a lab or field report, a presentation for a debate, essay etc.
I think feedback as any information, process or activity which affords or accelerates student learning based on comments relating to either assessment or activities.
Feedback is an essential part for effective learning. It helps students to understand the subject and gives them clear guidance on how to improve their learning. I think the academic feedback is more strongly and consistently related to achievement than any other teaching challenge.. I think the Feedback can improve student’s confidence, self-awareness and enthusiasm for learning. I think is very important before start a class, the teacher give feedback of the last topic to the student could have more retention.
Here are some examples of feedback:
Group tutoring: Students are assigned to small groups that meet weekly to review important or difficult topics covered in class.
Individual feedback: the teacher prepared the class to help students in a specific topic where student have problems.
Conclusion
I concluded that this type of approach makes students take responsibility for their own learning and increases the value added nature of your teaching, I think with feedback the student have the opportunity for high achieving on their learning because they feel more confident in the subject.
On the whole students want and appreciate good feedback, yet the National Student Survey (NSS) consistently finds that feedback is commonly an area where students feel improvements are needed. (NSS, 2008).
