well that depends , if you are going with the Japanese meaning of the word. it can mean anything animated, stuff like bugs bunny and family guy fit into the category as well. but if you going with how american's use the word, as in Japanese "cartoon"( sorry lack of a better term) then no it is not , its a show made by a american company named rooster teeth with the head of the project being of some Asian ancestry, this stuff does not look that good but keep in mind that these videos were made almost two years ago. so how they look today are better

just my opinion, but I can't appreciate this animation. Everything is CGI and only because it's cheaper and faster. there's so little uniqueness in anime's today. Not that I don't enjoy The new stuff, it's just all animated the same. shingeki is good. really enjoyed that. maybe I'm just old fashioned.
