How to participate in the writing forum

1. Review the units from 1 to 7

2. Read the guide and rubrics carefully and follow instructions.

3. First week: (March 29th

– April 5th) Introduce yourself (Name, age, address, phone

number, occupation) and choose one of the following topics.

4. Choose only one topic

a) You are a famous architect and you write an article in English for a magazine

describing your new model for a modern house. Describe the location of the rooms

and the things you can find there (there is /there are)

b) You are a scientific and you were asked to write a short text in English describing

your daily routines and activities expressing where and when you do them.

c) You are having vacation in a very exotic place in the Caribbean. Write in English a

post card to your friend describing the place, and the activities you do there and

the time you do them.

5. Second week (April 6th

- April 12th) Make a list of words you may use and write the

main idea and the supporting ideas of your text

How to consolidate your text

Consolidate and submit your text in English (PDF) on April 12 th

Use the dictionary frequently during the writing process.

Check ideas; they must be clear and organized.

On-line Translators are a useful tool, be responsible at using them.

Be creative! Imagination and good sense of humor are important items at writing.

Take into account that the text must have the following information. Also, divide

the information into four paragraphs. Each paragraph must have minimum four (4)

sentences and maximum eight (8) sentences

1. First paragraph: introduction (personal information).

2. Second paragraph: Introduce your ideas

3. Third paragraph: develop your ideas

4. Fourth paragraph: Conclusion
