Serving Ideas
Churrumais are excellent when seasoned with the hot sauce of your choice, lime isn't really necessary as they already have some lime flavor, but you are free to experiment if you wish.
About Sabritas
Created in 1943, Sabritas is the Mexican market leader in snacks and related products.
Sabritas (which is a contraction of "Sabrosas Botanitas" which loosely translates to "Tasty Snacks") began when Don Pedro Marcos Noriega started preparing bags of chips, garbanzos and broad beans from his home which were then delivered all over Mexico City by a hard working delivery team on bikes. When the automatic frier was introduced in 1953, they became essential to satisfy the growing demand for Sabritas' snacks. The first Sabritas factory also came in 1953.
When Pepsico, Inc. sought market opportunities south of the border in 1966, it did not take them long to select Sabritas as the best option for investing. This meant the birth of Sabritas as we know it, along with the familiar smiley face logo. was the best candidate for investment.
The first large scale factory was built in 1968 in Mexico City, followed by Guadalajara in 1972, when Doritos, Fritos and the classic Sabritones were introduced.
Sabritas branched out to the candy market in 1986, when Sonrics was created as a fusion of various Mexican candy companies.
In 2002 Sabritas also acquired Mafer peanuts, a brand with more than 4 decades of experience in the market.
