Aurora
BIG WIN FOR AURORA! In July, we received an order for 13 Aurora analyzers totaling $250k from National Fuel. This represents our largest order globally, and puts the Americas solidly in front with Aurora!
This order is a huge win for us. We were competing against Spectra Sensors, who had also bid the job. Although our bid ended up being slightly higher in price, the customer decided that our AuroraView software and overall analyzer performance were far superior. These units will be going into new measurement stations across National Fuel’s supply network located in northeastern Pennsylvania. The new measurement stations are being built to handle incoming gas production from the Marcellus Shale formation. It is important for each site to have a moisture measurement, along with a gas chromatograph, to insure that the incoming gas meets specified standards for transmission and custody transfer.
National Fuel plans to take delivery on 9 units this quarter. At their request, we have already shipped the first unit, 3 weeks after the order! The remaining 4 units will be shipped early next year.
We also have been successful in securing 2 evaluation test sites with El Paso, one in Louisiana and another for the Ruby Pipeline project in Colorado. El Paso owns the largest gas pipeline network in North America, and is also one of the largest producers and processors of natural gas in the US. Below is the test data collected from the site in Louisiana, which shows the Aurora (in Blue) tracking right along with the unit at the site (Spectra – in yellow). El Paso was an early adopter of TDLAS technology with Spectra Sensors, but has expressed
