The Instant messaging has a lot of advantages one of this is that we can be in contact with our family or friends that live abroad, another adventages is that is more private than talking in person. With the new technology increased in works, schools, and other enterprises, another adventages of the instant messaging is that in the company, colleagues can send and reply instant message in real time without face to face, meanwhile the work report can be shared during the instant chat session. Another advantages is that now people can do business through the instant messenger direct rather than use the traditional method like make phone calls.

In spite of this, the instant messaging also has a lot of disadvantages one of this is that some people feel this like an invasion of privacy, another disadvantages is that most chat programs allow you to choose to be invisible, or you can always sign out. Like this disadvantges there are a lot.

But we consider that the principal disadvantages is the distress that the person you are talking to is the person you are talking to. This can be dangerous, especially for teens, as there's no guarantee of knowing who the person is or how old they are.

We thing that we prefert the phone calls than the instant messaging because the instant messaging can be so dangerous in spite of all the advantages that it has.

We conclude that there are some ways to stay safe, these are 3 basic rules to stay safe that we consider that are the most important:

Only comunicate with people who are on your contact or buddy list.

Never tell your real name, location, or telephone number
