Task: Genuine ESL materials

An authoring tool is a programme installed in the computer that allows the user to create his/her own genuine materials in electronic format.

The aim of this task is to create at least two activities using different authoring tools offered by HotPotatoes (JQuiz, JMatch, JMix, among others).

For the design of your activities you need to include some information here:

• Name of activity.
• Age of children and level.
• Skills of English they’re going to practice (reading, writing, listening, speaking or use of English).
• Authoring tool: JQuiz, JMatch, JMix, etc.
• Short description of the activity and how you’re going to carry it out in class.

Remember that the activities uploaded in the server of Hotpotatoes are only available for one week. Please share your materials (all the files created per authoring tool) using one of the sites seen in the unit (for example, GoogleDrive or Dropbox) and copy and paste those links as well:

IMPORTANT! Remember that the activities created using the software must be shared ONLY using the sites provided in the unit. The activities will NOT be copied in this template. This template will be only used for showing information about the activities created (in a summary table with suitable information related to the activities). You must also take into account that some of the sites provide some options of restriction. Please avoid private option so that your digital texts can be seen and, therefore, evaluated without problems.

The evaluation of the task will be as it follows:

• Creation of two activities using two different Hotpotatoes authoring tools: 6 points

• Activity 1 designed with a Hotpotatoes authoring tool: 2 points
• Correct explanation of the activity in a summary table: 1 point
• Activity 2 designed with a Hotpotatoes authoring tool: 2 points
• Correct explanation of the activity in a summary table: 1 point

• Correct links provided by Hotpotatoes Server: 2 points

• Correct link 1: 1 point
• Correct link 2: 1 point

• Correct links when sharing the activities with GoogleDrive or Dropbox: 2 points

• Correct link 1: 1 point
• Correct link 2: 1 point

• Grammar, spelling and sense mistakes will be penalized (-0.05 per grammar/spelling mistake; -0.1 per sense mistake).
