Texting while driving should be banned in Puerto Rico

We are so used to hear news about accidents on the roads, but what if one of those accidents are our parents, friends or maybe us. Perhaps many are alcohol, drugs, speeding, but there are small details that we know that could cause accidents. One of these causes is texting while driving. Today we communicate by computer, email, Facebook, text, and we are forgetting what it is to talk personally. We are so focused on being up to date with the technology that we do not care about other more important things. Technology is good but we must know how to use it without doing any damage.

Texting while driving should be banned because in Puerto Rico we have many cases of accidents on the roads and they can be controlled. People are not creating awareness of the effects and consequences that can bring such actions. When we drive not only our life is in danger, if not thousands of people, families who die innocently, for accidents that could have been cautious.

We must unite as a people and take the necessary precautions to prevent accidents that are in our hands. It is well known that texting while driving dramatically increases the risk of injury and deaths. Every day in the media we hear news of accidents caused by the use of alcohol and the police are quite stringent enforcing this law of not to drinking any type of alcoholic beverage while driving. of "do not text on cell phones while driving." When you look around on our roads you can enjoy a fascinating landscape, women applying makeup while driving, with their children who are in their rear seats, men and women, young and old talking on cell phones while driving, and it even results "fun "to see how they do all maneuvers to see how they perform the functions at once.

Who has not ever seen this type of person that while driving, listens to music and writes text messages? Incredible! But we live in the age of technology and be versatile not an option, it's basically a requirement. So we need to start analyzing things a little better, the law is only black ink printed on paper when we do nothing to enforce it. Is it fun and dangerous to use the phone while driving? That determines what your priorities should be that for some, perhaps many, the fun is more important than life itself. Sending text messages "texting" while driving, endangers thousands of people who drive to work every day. This risk is growing as the "texting" is generalized. Reaction time is slower for both a driver who is talking on a cell phone, and to a drunk driver. Drivers take their eyes off the road 400% times more than when they are not "texting".
