Use of Money for School Venues.
Introduction.
The aim of this report is to compare the advantages of establishin a self-study centre. According to this i hace visited another college wich has one and invterviewed a number of students to find out their views.
Advantages.
Some of the students told me that the best adavntage of estableshinig a self study is that the community use the facilities, wich helps to find it. This mean lower cost of maintening. Also another advantage is that the roksheets provided give extra practise of classroom work of students. In addition to this this, another students thought that also the facility helps to attract potential students to the college.
Potential problems.
I have spoken to the teachers because they seem to me more appropiate to talk about the disadvamatges than spoken with the students. Several teachers suggested that:
- It’s under-used at weekend.
- Many students still prefer to study in their own rooms.
- A full-time assistant is requared, even if the cebtre is empty.
- It costs a lot to set up beacuse of all the computers.
- Writing material for the centre is time-consuming for the teachers.
Recommendations.
Both opinions have benefits, but it was felt by the majority of teachers that establishing a self-study is not so useful because their potential problems. I could see how unseccesful it would be to have one. I would not recommend investing in one.
