We depend on the internet too much
Ever since the internet appeared it started to become more important because of all the benefits that it brings with it. When the time past people started to depend en the internet to the point that we can’t live without it. Some people didn’t notice how the internet became so important in their lives it’s like a progressive illness you don’t notice until you are dying. When I was little I always played different games with my cousins we were closer but now this new generation it’s totally different they look like zombies always in their computers. In this essay I will argue about how much we depend on the internet and how can affect people’s lives.
The internet is a good tool as long as you don’t depend on it. But the problem is that we always fall in the addiction and at that point is when it starts to be bad for us. In the past things were different, families were closer, always together, spending time together, but now everyone have Smart phones and it’s sad when you are in the same house and your mother has to write you for the phone to tell you that the food is ready, communication does not exist. You usually see a group of friends ¨together¨ but with their faces down looking to their phones. People spend more time in their phones and they loose the beautiful things that are happening around them. We always talk about teenagers but some parents spend more time in their phones than with their kids, kids need attention, love, and quality time. I actually know somebody that get up early to go to work and when she comes back she spends the little time that she has with her phone, her kids spend the whole day without her and when she comes back she prefers having a date with her phone.
Internet also can affect the human capacity of thinking because it always does all the work for us. Now kids spend more time in the internet than learning how to write and read. Now we are creating a new generation called video-kid, the kid who has grown in front of the computer.
The kids grow as a cultural illiterate who quickly forget everything that he learns in school. Internet is a horrific way to waste time. Sometimes people are at risk of loosing the sense of reality, the limits of what is true and what is fake, between the existing and the imaginary. The internet creates eternal dreamers who spend life in imaginary worlds. The facility of the digital age represents the facility of drugs. Now people are in crisis of losing the knowledge and the capacity of knowing.
