Yammer for Executives Toolkit
Executive engagement is crucial when rolling out a social technology such as Yammer. Not only do employees want reassurance
that social is an approved form of workplace communication, but they also crave transparency into their organization’s leadership
and a sense of connectedness to the company’s overall identity and culture. Employees want to identify with their leaders and will
flock to a network where they can feel leadership’s presence.
It’s also essential to obtain executive buy-in and support for social prior to launching a Yammer network to ensure that you are in
alignment with the organization’s overall mission and goals. Your executive should be in agreement with the vision that has been
set forth for Yammer and be willing to participate in the launch efforts. To garner their interest and participation, you’ll need to be
able to convey the business value both employees AND executives will realize from social.
To help you achieve executive support and participation, we’ve put together the Yammer for Executives Toolkit. The Toolkit
includes both a pitch deck and a getting started guide that you can download and repurpose when speaking to your executive
leaders about Yammer.
The pitch deck will help you illustrate the business value that social brings to the enterprise, explain why executive
participation is so important and highlight specific executive use cases and customer success stories.
The getting started guide will help you walk your executives through the basics of getting setup on Yammer; everything
from logging into the network for the first time, to adjusting email notifications, to best practices for executive use.
In addition to these Toolkit resources, we encourage you to reference our other Social Journey resources at our Yammer Success
Center, success.yammer.com. All of these templates and materials can be downloaded and repurposed as you embark or continue
on your journey to working social. If your organization is a licensed Yammer customer, we also encourage you to join our Yammer
