Greed (Latin, avaritia), also known as avarice and cupidity , is the inordinate desire to possess wealth, goods, or objects of abstract value with the intention to keep it for one's self, far beyond the dictates of basic survival and comfort. If the greedy person sees it, he/she will do anything to acquire it. This sin is Similar to Gluttony, it is the consumption of something to excess.
