Prediction:
A clothes web page Students can use knowledge of the world and clues (illustrations, realia) to make predictions about the text. 5 minutes.
Pair work Photocopies about clothes downloaded from an Internet page.
Blackboard. Students will identify some details that an Internet clothes page shows: colors, fonts, headings, etc. In order to do so, the teacher will ask the student: “what can you see? What do you think this page is related to?”
Reflection on language:
How can I ask about…? Students can identify the overall message and some details (prices, features of an object) and discriminate relevant from irrelevant information, in order to make comparisons between two or more items and identify prices. 10 minutes.
Group work Students will identify some specific characteristic about the clothes like prices, sizes and vocabulary employed and he will analyze and identify the way how to ask about the clothes. For example, the teacher will say: “How can I ask for the price of that shirt? How can I know what size are these shorts?”
Production:
A written conversation Students can follow structured models of spoken / written language to give information about items for sale. 10 minutes.
Pair work Teacher will guide the students through a controlled conversation in order to ask for the clothes of their preference: “How much is this skirt?” “It’s $100.” “How much are those shoes?” “They are $600.”
After that, based on this guided conversation, the student will produce a short written text.

Blackboard. Students will practice through oral practice and by volunteering, the conversations they created and the teacher will encourage them to move from the controlled one they did to a free way to talk.
