Cosmetic surgery before the age of eighteen
It is certainly true that people have felt the need to care for their beauty to feel good about themselves. One of the many ways that they have been used, is the care of the body, and is therefore that are in constant search of products and services that replace those needs. To this uses products or procedures to improve the appearance, without considering issues of great importance, as is care in diet, exercise physical, good sleep and avoid alcohol and tobacco.
Is for this reason that people have turned to cosmetic surgery to improve their appearance or reduce the consequences produced by aging. But over the last few years, that trend is reinforced by the demand for teenagers who want to improve the image body or perception of physical appearance. It is for this reason that many people already consider allowing teens to have plastic surgery (because it is not allowed cosmetic surgeries performed until reaching 18). However, before you can allow teens to perform these surgeries, it is important to consider the pros and the arguments against.
On one hand, a point in favour is that sometimes this surgery aims to restore or improve function and physical aspect injuries caused by accidents, burns, diseases, tumors of the skin, mainly aimed congenital anomalies (skull, lip, mouth, nose, ears, hands, etc.). Another point in favour is that teenagers use the cosmetic surgeries to prevent discrimination in adolescent stage (ear pinning or significant nasal size accompanied by a small chin).
But, on the other hand the plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons in adolescents is something that really needs to be discouraged, because girls do not have body image formed yet. Secondly, teenagers who want to get liposuction, nose job (rhinoplasty) or even get botox injections in an unnecessary attempt to "prevent" wrinkles on faces that, far from showing signs of aging, have not yet finished developing.
Also, in the case of the nose should not be operated before age 16, because until then continues to grow, the mammary cosmetic procedures are recommended after the woman has given birth and breastfeeding has given, so that the average age is between 35 and 40 years, in terms of the liposuction, people must undergo this treatment after age of 30. Besides, sometimes adolescents are not happy after plastic surgery because they do not even know what they want, because they have been moved by influences.
In conclusion, the plastic surgery not only brings into play the body, with the risks of any intervention-also comes in body image that every person has, which is in full development in adolescence. The body continues to grow until about age 22 and mental and emotional resources of adolescents should also be developed further. However, if even so the teenagers want to do these surgeries should before undergoing a procedure, ask about it, consequences, possible complications,
