El aborto como problema social en la actualidad

Abortion is a social problem nowadays. It has many causes and effects in several fields, like: society, family, individual life.

For beginning is good have clear that the abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the womb of a fetus or embryo prior to viability. An abortion can occur spontaneously, in which case it is usually called a miscarriage, or it can be purposely induced but the term abortion most commonly refers to the induced abortion of a human pregnancy.There are essentially four types of induced abortion: Therapeutic abortion , Abortion ethical or humanitarian, Psychosocial Abortion, Eugenic abortion.

Therapeutic abortion: is done when the pregnancy endangers the life of the pregnant woman. This has become virtually obsolete as a result of progress in medicine.

Abortion ethnical or humanitarian: when the pregnancy has resulted from a criminal act, mainly rape or incest.

Psychosocial abortion: it’s made for personal, family economic, social,... of women. It is indisputable that such information includes the highest percentage of abortions performed in the world.

Eugenic abortion: it could also be called “fetal indication” or “preventive”. Is raised when there is significant risk or probability that the new being is affected by abnormalities or birth defects.

Actually taking into account adolescence responsibility we have to know for psychiatry, all women who abort for social aspects have fearful and depressive reactions, they don’t see other solution and According to reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) in the world there are 50 million abortions a year, a woman dies every 6 minutes on the planet from complications of a bad abortion performed. In Colombia, abortion is not permitted by law, but it is estimated that over 400,000 are performed annually and 25% of them are teenagers.

With relation to the abortion Consequences in society, we have take into account the Dr. Rene Favaloro opinion, and he says “abortion is a criminal act, without doubt, But I am opposed to the hypocrisy; many gentlemen whom we see around talking naturally about how bad is the abortion are hypocrites because they know that in reality things happen differently. The goal is to educate, not legislate”

The other hand, applied studies in the country show us how the children of teenage mothers have an increased risk of child abuse in all its forms, greater risk of being sexually abused by stepfathers, people of the nuclear family or people close to the family that takes advantage of the lack of affection that these children have more often, tend to have higher risk of malnutrition, and sometimes induced into prostitution looking for to improve the economic situation of family.
