Formal Letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of island caretaker which I saw advertised in “The Times” newspaper on November 6th.

Since 2005 I’ve been taking part in all kinds of projects related to nature and animal’s care. However, if I had to highlight one of my skills, it would be my ability to swim as a result of my intensive trainings all over these past years. Moreover, I’ve always been enthusiastic about nature and its fantastic creatures, I’m a very independent, responsible and open-minded person, and I think these strong qualities could be positive for this job.

It would be a great pleasure to work for you, although I need to admit I have other qualities which you might have some objections with, for instance, I’m a very hard worker, I can’t go home until I’ve finished the job or I’ve achieved my day goal, and that may be a problem eventually.

I would like to apply for this job for many reasons; one of them is my attraction for natural landscapes, and another one would be my need to change my routine and enjoy new experiences.
