Gay Marriage

          Homosexuality has been considered a trespass during all over the history; we could see it in the mediaeval era, or in the Nazi Germany with their characteristics Pink Stars. For this reason, marriage has been composed for a man and a woman. Any other way would be considered as an abomination. This statement was very strict, but luckily, nowadays things have been changing and people are slowly starting to accept anything considered “different”. This is the time when Gay People fight for their rights. The question is: Should they be able to get married? This is a very controversial question, and I personally believe that yes, they should, because there are more important things like the skeletons in the closet of every government than just expressing love in front of the world.

          The first three articles of Human Rights stipulates, in order, that every person has the right to equality, deserves the freedom of being discriminated, and has the right to life, liberty and personal security. It is very important to make a law that certifies Gay Marriage, because maybe it would decrease the number of people who look them down. Hopefully, senators and deputies are listening the Society of 2017’s voice. Gay Marriage is now legal in 23 countries all over the world, but it is neccesary to keep reasoning and don’t giving up with those 183 countries that supress the topic.

          On the other hand, people against Gay Marriage could have a basement in religious thoughts, but all over the world the majority of the countries have a Secular State, so it doesn’t make sense that only 23 countries legalize it. I think it is mainly related to archaic “good values”. Why don’t we just live and let live?

          Finally, I think it is necessary to make another question: How long will it be before Governments realize the seriousness of this problem, which affects in some people’s life? Haven’t Gay People waited enough to break free? It is just so sad that people mistreat or non-accept love for having another prefferences. We must accept everyone, include them and end up with a better society.
