Why are cells important?

-Because are the basic building blocks of body and life.

-They make up all the organs and tissues in your body including your muscles.

-They are what make up ur whole body.

Mention 5 characeristics of cells?

-Ingestion – Intake of nutrients

-Digestion – Enzymatic breakdown, hydrolysis, of food so it is small enough to be assimilated by the body.

-Respiration – Metabolic process that produce energy for all the life processes.

-Regulation – ability to maintain internal stability, homeostasis.

-Reproduction – Ability to generate offspring.

Give 3 differences between animal and plants cells.

-Planta have cell walls

-Plants can make their own food (they have chloroplasts).

-Plants Cells have vacuoles so that they can store a lot more water.

What mutations can cells have?

Investigate a task of 3 different parts of cells.

-Nucleus- Is the most important organelle (Little Body) within the cell. It has two vital functions; to control the activities of the cell and to facilitate cell division. Surrounding the nucleus is a membrane called the nuclear membrane. The nucleus divides first by a process called mitosis. It is only during the process of mitosis that the chromosomes can be seen.

-Cell Membrane: Every cell is surrounded by a cell membrane. It is sometimes called a plasma membrane. The cell membrane separtes the cell from its external environment and from the neighboring cells.

-Cytoplasm: Is a sticky, semifluid material found between the nucleus and the cell membrane. The cytoplasm is the background for all chemical reactions that take place in the cell, such as protein synthesis an cellular respiration.
