2012 – 2013 IFAF World Team Program
Overview
The IFAF World Team program was established in 2009 as an elite international player and
coach development program. As the IFAF World Team program enters its 4th year, the program
continues to grow in quality and numbers. Since 2010, IFAF has increased the number of
opportunities for players, coaches and support staff to be involved in the program each year and
2012-13 is no different.
In 2012, the IFAF World Team defeated USA Football’s Under-19 National Team 35-29 in the
International Bowl. The program included 91 players and 22 coaches from 19 IFAF member
federations.
Objectives
• Share resources and best practices with IFAF member national team programs through
World Team research and analysis
• Promote cultural exchange and education through American football.
• Aid in the football development of elite international U19 players and coaches.
• Increase exposure and awareness of international football worldwide.
• Beat the U.S. Under-19 National Team in the International Bowl.
Significant Improvements to 2012-13 IFAF World Team Program
Each year, the IFAF World Team program looks to improve the experience for players, coaches
and national federations.
• Increased number of Development Team players and coaches
• Addition of a 4th year of eligibility for players
• Creation of webinar program to better educate players ahead of the International Bowl
• Launching of the IFAF World Team Academy (see below)
World Team Coordinators
Established in 2010 to help facilitate the communication between the IFAF World Team program
and IFAF member federations, the IFAF World Team Coordinators are essential to gathering
information regarding for each country’s nominated players, coaches and / or support staff.
The World Team Coordinator is appointed by each IFAF member and serves as the main
contact for each IFAF members’ World Team nominees. Appointments were made in 2010 and
have not changed unless otherwise communicated to IFAF since then.

Coaching Staff
The World Team Coaching Staff will be comprised of the top international coaches nominated
by their respective national federations.
As in year’s past, the program will seek continuity within the coaching staff while also
introducing new coaches to the program. In total, 33 coaches will be selected for the 2012-13
World Team program.
Positions Available for 2012-13:
• Final Roster Coaching Staff (11)
o Head Coach (2-Year Commitment)
o Offensive, Defensive & Special Teams Coordinators
o Position Coaches: QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, DB
• World Development Team Coaching Staff (22)
o Head Coaches (2 – Blue & White)
o Offensive, Defensive & Special Teams Coordinators (6 – Blue & White)
o Position Coaches: QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, DB (14 – Blue & White)
• Coaching Assistant Program
o Maximum of ten (10) coaching assistants will be selected.
Responsibilities and Expectations of the IFAF World Team Coaching Staff:
• Maintain communication with nominated players at their position through the IFAF World
Team Web Portal.
• Assist IFAF and National Federations with collection of necessary information from
players at their position and / or from their country.
• Participation in scheduled webinars.
• Participation in regularly scheduled player selection conference calls.
• Available for travel to U.S. from Monday, January 28 to Thursday, February 7, 2013.
Final Roster
The Final Roster will be comprised of the top 50 players and selected based solely on ability,
regardless of nationality.
The coaching staff will invite 40 – 45 players directly to the final roster and leave the remaining
spots open for players promoted from the World Development Team. The exact number will be
determined by the coaching staff.
Players selected to the final roster will be announced on a rolling basis beginning in September
2012.

World Development Team
Introduced in 2011, the World Development Team roster is comprised of the top international
players with more than one-year of eligibility in the program. The World Development Team was
established at the request of IFAF members to provide more players with the opportunity to be
evaluated for future Final Roster consideration.
In 2012-13, 100 players born in 1994, 1995 and 1996 will be selected for the World
Development Team.
New in 2012-13 will be the creation of the “Blue” and “White” World Development Teams. Each
team will consist of approximately 50 players and participant in the World Development Team
Game at the conclusion of Training Camp. Players promoted to the final roster will participate in
the World Development Team Game at the coaching staff’s discretion.
Purpose of World Development Team:
The World Development Team is designed to be a feeder system for the World Team Final
Roster. Younger players are given an opportunity to be instructed by some of the world’s top
coaches and develop into a player that can eventually make the World Team Final Roster.
