Now our society is worried about superficial problems like the clothes that they will use today or tomorrow, they are worried about the people that love them or not, they are worried about new brands, they are worried about money or just about themselves. But, what about the people around us? What about all the people who are trying to broke the silence and scream for their rights? What about children crying because their parents are not with them? What about the suffering of a lot of families who lose their grandparents, their parents, their children, their brothers or sisters in the war? What about our reality?

While these problems are still going on, and people do not be conscious about it, nobody will be really doing anything. People have become lazy and have the mentality of indifference about these problems. Issues dealing with the environment need to be dealt right now. Not in a few years, but now. There have been attempts to help issues such as global warming, but nothing is happening and nothing will happen unless we do something drastic. Environmental issues are a high priority because if we don’t solve the problem then it is only a matter of time before the human race ceases to exist. It is our fault that our environment is in bad condition and it is our responsibility to fix it.

World hunger is a bigger problem than most people realize. In the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America there are over five hundred million people living in extreme poverty. The problem is not just in foreign countries or poor countries either; it is also a problem in Colombia as well. Three out of eight children under the age of twelve in Colombia goes to bed hungry every night. This is a major problem because there are many ways to solve this issue, yet there is hardly anything being done.

With rising rates of unemployment, lack of education, hunger and homelessness, more and more of the world's countries are falling into Poverty. People all around the world are losing their lives to this devastating cause. Wars and religions are one of the many causes and results of poverty. Poverty is by far, one of the most devastating societal issues of our time.

Fortunately, many people have become aware about this and have created foundations fighting poverty and all social issues of the world. Lionel Messi and Bill Gates do their parts; we too can help our homes to improve the life conditions of people and the planet.
