A state endowed with unsurpassed beauty, which has a legendary history of struggle and conquest in each of its beautiful scenery.

Geography.

Yucatán bordered on the north and the Gulf of México, east to the Caribbean Sea, south to the Bay of Chetumal and Belize and west by Campeche and Yucatán.

It binational border with Guatemala and Belize countries, has 10 municipalities within.

Climate:

In the entity exists little variation in temperature throughout the year.

The climate is humid with summer rains.

Ecological reserves:

Among the ecological reserves include: Isla Contoy, Cozumel Reefs National Park, Marine Park in Isla Mujeres Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an Banco Chinchorro among others.

customs:

Within state traditions festivals are celebrated in honor of St. Barnabas, The traditional festival of the people and the Feast of San Bartolo.

At these regional festivals jaranas dance, and activities such as cultural exhibitions, rides, crafts, food and more.

Gastronomy:

It is a delicious Creole cuisine full of smells and tastes, so characteristic of the peninsula.

Their dishes are colorful and stand out for the variety of spices and enormous creativity used in its manufacture.

The staple food is corn state, followed by the pork, chicken, deer, habanero chile and others.

Among the typical dishes of the most significant are: Beans with pork, chaya with egg, chicken stew, cheese filling, salbutes panuchos pipián deer, papadzules, sausage, roasted suckling pig, mucbil, pimes and tamales.
