Raymond’s Run Reflection
Everyone have special abilities to demonstrate, we just need to identify which one is special talent that we have and works with enthusiasm to achieve it. The abilities depend on our effort, but often require the help of those around us. This is one of the many themes that I inferred from the story Raymond’s Run. This story tells about a girl named Squeaky. She is a fast runner and in the end finds herself with the idea to help and train her brother to be a runner. This reminded me when I would be going to practice track and field and seeing my brother just sit on the stand waiting for the end of my daily practice. I’m sure he has special talent to run too. I want to help him, but he just has no interest to be active maybe because he has seen the practice so hard.
Throughout the story I identify others similarities relating with my life. Raymond is tormented by the new girl named Gretchen, but Squeaky had the determination to stop people of making fun of him. This remains me when others kids try to fun my brother. Always I defend him from those who try to harm him, but I know that whatever I do it most likely will not change because it can happen again and he can be alone, just like Squeaky. At the end of the story Squeaky is participating in an annual race. She practiced very hard to achieve the first place. This reminds me when I am getting ready for a big competition I do whatever I can to get pumped and ready to win, but I now are more important things than winning. At the end Squeaky realized that she wanted to help her brother, Raymond and train him to run. This makes me feel happy and excited to know that she wanted to help her brother rather than continue to run and train herself to become better and win more. When my brother playing basketball, I help him to do a wonderful gamer and it makes me feel very proud.
The Story Raymond’s Run is about finding the talent in you or helping to find someone else. It teaches us to help and encourage others rather than put them down. It’s good to have a friendly competition and help others to show his talents.
