Little Joe's Story

- Lagrimita Joe was a child with a special ability: he could cry in less than a second. If he didn't like something difficult, or if someone was upset, Lagrimita Joe soon put on a pout and showed big tears rolling down his cheeks. This way he got practically everything he wanted, because there was no one who could resist the pain that his tear-stained face gave.

- But one day, Lagrimita Joe met pipo. He was found asking for some coins in exchange for helping people who were walking down the street. Pipo was very poor, and he had no house or family, so he made a living as he could. However, he always showed a great smile from ear to ear

- Joe liked that boy so he decided to help him out to get some money. He approached the place where Pipo was, took off his hat, put it next to his shoes, and started crying, putting on his most painful face.

- What a success! In a few minutes, Tear Joe's hat was full of coins and candy. But when he offered it to Pipo, he rejected it.

- I prefer to deserve what I have

- He replied, with his usual smile

- It is much more fun to strive to get things

-        You know? Today I have bathed a dog, I have collected hundreds of nails with a magnet, I have ordered a paint cabinet, I have accompanied a blind lady in the park ...

- I may not have gotten what I wanted, but I have done many interesting things. And you? Did you have fun? Lagrimita Joe did not answer, and left sad. He had gotten everything he wanted, but had done practically nothing interesting all day.

- He hadn't even had a good time: almost all the time he had been crying. That afternoon, already at home. Joe ordered a delicious cake for dinner. When her mother said no, she tried to cry, but when she remembered the happy Pipo and saw her own sorrowful face reflected in the mirror, she couldn't do it.

- How to miss that opportunity to do something interesting? So I try to get the cake in a different way and to the surprise and joy of her parents, I spend the whole afternoon helping her mother and ordering and labeling the pantry, watering the plants and placing the library books.

- However, in the end there was no cake. But it wasn't so terrible either, because Joe discovered that it had been much more fun, doing all those things than spending the afternoon crying just to get dinner a cake that he hadn't even deserved.
