United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The country includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland and many smaller islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK that shares a land border with another state—the Republic of Ireland. Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the west and north, the North Sea in the east, the English Channel in the south and the Irish Sea in the west.
For England crosses one of the world's cleanest rivers, the River Thames.

History
Its origins date back to the arrival of the Celts to the territory.
Then in the year 53 BC the Romans arrive to territory and become a Rome’s province.
During the V century the Angles and the Saxons advanced rapidly in England. The next waves of invaders are Norwegian and Danish Vikings. After a brief period of Danish rule, the Normans defeat the Saxons.
The sixteenth century was the golden age, Shakespeare wrote his works and Francis Bacon established the foundations of modern science.
In 1642 there was a religious civil war.
In 1770 starts the colonization period.
The biggest blow to the Empire in 1783 is when the American colonies gain their independence.
In 1780 was the initiator of the Industrial Revolution.
In the early twentieth century Queen Victoria dies. A great queen.
After the First World War it is estimated that one million Britons had died.
During World War II, Britain remains isolated.
In the postwar years much of the British colonies get their independence, no longer a superpower.
The arrival of Margaret Thatcher in 1979 to power marked the history of this kingdom.
In 1982 the Falklands War, islands claimed by Argentina, shocked the country.
In 1990 "The Iron Lady" resigns.
Tony Blair's victory in 1997 gave a new impetus to the country.
Politic
The United Kingdom is a unitary state comprised of four countries: Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. It’s governed by a parliamentary system of government based in London capital, but with three decentralized administrations in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, the capital of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland respectively. Turn, is a parliamentary monarchy with Elizabeth II as head’s state.
The Crown Dependencies of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not part of the country, but are integrated into a personal union with him. UK has fourteen overseas territories.
It's a member of European Union.

Education
England has a very good level of state educations and is approximately only 7% who go to private schools.
