Alliance for Conservation and Development (ACD)
The Alliance for Conservation and Development (ACD) in Panama is a nongovernmental organization formed by Panamanian professionals from multiple disciplines, with emphasis on social, political, and environmental scientists to participate as civil society organizations in the solution of various problems and opportunities in national life for society in general.
Their goals are altruistic and noble. Their strategies are varied and many, but their goals are focused mainly to the origin of their name: creating and fostering strategic alliances to achieve true development with environmental conservation of nature. ACD is concerned about conservation and the promotion of alternative development for the most vulnerable communities of the country
Projects areas include Cuenca del Lago Bayano, la Isla de Coiba and the region of Bocas del Toro
Panama Verde
Its a nonprofit youth work with youth groups in schools and communities across the country in local conservation projects and development. Each Panama Verde Group is very important, they live in their area of work, only they know the problems of their communities and the priorities to address them, are a part of the solution.
General Purpose
Being young Panamanians to be better citizens and become proactive people with all the qualities of leaders to address social and environmental issues in their communities.
What they do
They promote leadership and management skills in groups. They train young Panamanians in the management and design of small-scale community projects. Participants teach environmental education and conservation techniques. Camps developed to enable them to serve and share experiences and knowledge among groups of different regions and cultures.
