Muscular system

The muscular system is the one that pump blood to our body, enable to breathe, it let us move, and to be flexible.

The muscular system has three types of muscles:

• skeletal muscle

• smooth muscle

• cardiac muscle

What’s skeletal muscle?

The skeletal muscle is joined with the bones, it allows movement. Every action that we do constantly, for example: speak, walk, or write needs the skeletal muscle. The function is to contract to move parts of the body close to the bone that is attached.

What’s smooth muscle?

Smooth muscles are found in internal organs and blood vessels. Smooth muscle helps the digestive system to move the food to our intestines.

What’s cardiac muscle?

Cardiac muscle is the tissue that is made up the heart, it is only found in the heart. Cardiac muscle is the responsible to pump blood to all the body.

The cardiac muscle never stops moving, it is moving our entire life.

Skeletal system

The skeletal system are all the bones, ligaments, and cartilage that we has in our body also our teeth are part of the skeletal system but it is not count as a bone. The skeletal system protects and allows movement.

The function of the skeletal system:

• protection

• storage

• support

• blood cell production

• movement

Protection?

The skeletal system protects internals organs and fragile tissue. The cranium protects the brain and eyes, the ribs protect the heart and lungs and the vertebrae protects the spinal cord.

Storage?

Support?

The main job of the skeletal system is to support our body and make us able to sit or stand .

Blood cell production?

The red marrow, makes red blood cells, they are found in flat bones like the pelvis, ribs and skull.

Movement?

Muscles pull the bones to make us move. With out bones we won’t be able to move any part of our body.

The parts of the skeletal system:

• Bones:

They have blood cells, when child are baby they have about 300 bones when they grow some bones disappear, when they are adult they have about 206

• Ligaments:

Are found at the end of bones, ligaments allow us movement.

• Cartilage:

Cartilage is strong is a connective tissue are found at the end of the bones.

The bones are made of?

• Minerals:

Make the bones strong.

• Connective tissue:

Is made of collagen.
