The missile crisis

President John Kennedy save the world threatened the united states and the soviet union over soviet nuclear missiles that were installed in cuba, this occurred in October 1962.

Cuba had been a country closely linked to U.S. interests since independence from Spain in 1898. The revolution of Fidel Castro in 1959, which initially was defined not as a Communist but had a clear nationalist orientation, began to take steps that undermined U.S. interests. The Washington reaction was immediate: break in relations in 1961, imposition of an economic blockade, excluded Cuba from the OAS (Organization of American States) and organized by the cia's secret operations, a failed invasion of anti-Castro Emigres in Bahia de cochinos or playa Girón in April 1961.

In October 1962, American u2 spy planes detected the construction of missile ramps and the presence of Soviet troops. on 22 October, with support clear from his Western allies, Kennedy takes a measure of great hardness: establishes a "defensive quarantine", i.e., a blockade of the island, deploying naval units and warplanes around cuba. If Soviet vessels tried to force the lock, the armed conflict between the two superpowers was served.

It was the time of the cold war in which closer was direct between the USSR and the US confrontation with the nuclear catastrophe. Finally, after secret negotiations, Khrushchev launched a proposal accepted by Kennedy: the Soviet Union would withdraw their missiles from Cuba in Exchange for the commitment of the U.S. not to invade the island and the withdrawal of Jupiter that U.S. missiles had deployed in Turkey.

If Kennedy had not acted immediately all this it would have been a mess since putting missiles in a country would mean a war between many countries.

And once more demonstrates that the us mobilized its forces for trying to protect their interests and their neighbors (allies). It’s clear the objectives of the United States imposing its rules of the game under the objectives of interest as a country. If nobody do something for this problems it will prejudice to neighboring countries which are never taken into account.
