 First of all in this essay I am going give my opinion about nuclear energy:

Is it going to be useful in the future?

Will the renewable sources replace them?

• What is nuclear energy?

Nuclear energy is energy that is created from the nucleus of an atom. The energy has to be released from the atom in order to supply power. Nuclear energy has its advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of Nuclear Energy

• The Earth has limited supplies of coal and oil. Nuclear power plants could still produce electricity after coal and oil become scarce.

• Nuclear power plants need less fuel than ones which burn fossil fuels. This means that it will reduce future emissions by 450 million tons of CO2 per year.

• Coal and oil burning pollute the air. Nowadays several nuclear power plants do not release contaminants into the environment.

• Nuclear stations will generate employment for 350,000 people and the amount of 542 billion over 20 years, "according to Oxford Economics for the American Council on Global Nuclear Competitiveness a couple of years ago."

Disadvantages of Nuclear Energy

Nuclear power is dangerous; it will create more problems that it can solve. There are six reasons why nuclear power is bad for the environment and for the nation.

• Nuclear power is very expensive. Building or restarting nuclear power plants would cost trillions of dollars. “For example, there was an estimate created by the Florida Power and Light Company to create a new reactor plant with a price tag of between $12 and $18 billion dollars for a single project.”

• Nuclear Power will not reduce our use on petrol. This is not completely true because most of the oil that we use is for gas in our transports and nuclear power has nothing to do with it, because it is producing electricity not fuel.

• Nuclear Power contaminates the water with radioactive substances which occurred around over lots of nuclear stations around the country. The process of mining materials used in nuclear power plants such as uranium and titanium has a very high risk of water contamination to nearby rivers and streams.

• This kind of energy is very dangerous and requires some experience. The risk of an accident and exposure increase exponentially through each step in the process of mining, transportation, storage, refinement, and use or nuclear power which then leaves you with enormous amounts of nuclear waste that must be contained and disposed of. “Every step of this process carries great risk for the environment and the community.”

• Radioactive material can cause cancer, health problems or even death. This effect can affect people in communities even though if they are far away from that place.

• Renewable sources can replace nuclear energy by several reasons:

• Nowadays we have
