My home is in Braselton, Ga and the score for my house is 0. It said that all activities near my house require a car, which I am not surprised about because I completely agree with. I live in a country club where there’s a gold course, winery, workout gym and pool with tennis courts for the entire neighborhood to use. There’s also a restaurant and a hotel so a lot of things are easier to walk to but I do admit that everyone uses golf carts because it’s extremely wide spread with lots of hills, but I do see the occasional person walking around for exercise. The nearest grocery store is Kroger and Publix which both require driving to.
Currently, I live at Quarry Trail apartment complex in Knoxville, and its walk score is 12. I agree with the score because all errands do require a car. The nearest grocery stores are Kroger on Chapman HWY, Wal-Mart and Publix on Cumberland and those require driving to.
A city I would love to live in in 20 years is Dallas, Texas. The walk score is 44. The website talked about how it’s a car dependent city, but it is the 23rd most walkable large city in the United States. It also discussed how it has public transportation but not that many bike lanes. The score did not really affect my opinion on the city. I do not consider myself a walker, I prefer driving so the score was not disappointing. I was surprised that it was a top 25 most walkable large cities because I’ve visited frequently and most of the time I always see people in their cars.
