WRITING 2: Effects of Tablets on its users
In this technological era, tablets have become one of the greatest inventions, captivating users of all ages. Its multiple features such as its portable design and user-friendly interface have made it an indispensable device. However, with their massive use, tablets have also initiated debates about their positive and negative repercussions on individuals and society. This essay aims to explain the dual impact of tablets, describing their positive effects such as improved productivity and connectivity, and their negative effects, such as dependency and health issues, for users and society.
To start with, one of the main positive effects of tablets is their ability to improve productivity. Tablets have a whole set of applications and functions that allow for better organization; as a result, users can complete their activities efficiently and effortlessly. For example, in the student area, there are applications that allow students to set schedules, homework reminders and exam reminders, this ensures the student a good planning in their studies.
Another positive effect, tablets serve as excellent developers of creativity. Due to their touch screen and a variety of creative applications, tablets allow users to come up with new ideas. From drawing and graphic design apps to photo and video editing tools, tablets give users a platform to explore and express their imagination, boosting innovation and self-expression.
However, these benefits offered by tablets can lead to dependence. The ease of access to applications and content on tablets can generate compulsive and addictive behaviors in users. Likewise, the temptation to be constantly on this electronic device can interfere with users' daily lives, affecting their routines. Many times, people give up their activities, such as homework or household responsibilities, because they spend hours using the tablet.
Another negative effect is that prolonged use of the tablets can cause health problems. Continuous exposure to the tablet screen can cause eye strain, and this health problem can include blurred vision, headaches, dry eyes, and sensitivity to light. Excessive tablet use can also contribute to a sedentary lifestyle; consequently, increasing the risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease and other health problems related to lack of physical activity.
In conclusion, tablets have transformed our lives, offering several positive benefits as well as negative ones. I consider the positive effects to be very important, but the negative effects must also be considered because they can be serious if we left them unchecked. Users must keep this in mind and make conscious control over their tablet use, taking advantage of the positive potential of tablets and avoiding developing their negative effects.
