Ensayo En Ingles De Electra Y Edipo, Sobre La Muerte

The death is a process of the life and is the end of it, but for the ancient cultures is the just the beginning. The end of the material being but is just a change for the spirit. The death is sometimes necessary.

Electra starts with the death of Agamemnon, who was killed by his wife, Clytemnestra, and Electra known it, and she is angry and want revenge and for her the revenge was to kill his mother, but she want happy to do it unless the gods told her that, she is in a protagonist, so the story is around her. We can say that what she did is may be something common in that time, but by now is something that if you do it you go to jail .The gods intervention is common is the Greeks stories. The gods are very important in the Greek culture, because they used to have a lot of influence in the terrene world, and the men just trust them blindly.

Oedipus King. He is the protagonist, so all the stuff that can´t happen to a man, happen to him, for example, Layo was kill by Oedipus but he didn’t want to killed, was just an accident, he just want to defend himself from that horseman. The death of his stepfather was just a coincidence whit the prophecies tell by Tiresias, and as example he said that Oedipus was going to be blind like him and he was right, too right. Or when he said that he (Oedipus) will kill his father, and marry his mother, and he at the beginning, he thinks that the prophecy wasn’t true but then someone tell him that his father died, and he starts to think that he died by nostalgia, so is someway he kill him, but he didn’t marry his stepmother so it wasn’t truth. I understood why he pulled off his eyes, but maybe in that moment I wouldn´t do it.

I see a lot of death in the two books but in one was a choice guide by the gods, but in fact can change, Electra. But in the other book (Oedipus King). Doesn’t have gods intervention just fate, it cannot be change; the only thing that can be change is the way, not the end.
