The appearance of the Gods of the Olympus are continuous and explain behaviors and characteristics of heroes and legends. In any case, the Age of Bronze, where the film is situated, the triremes didn't exist yet, until VII AD, and the soldiers' outfit wasn't the ones we see. The Greeks also didn't place two coins in the eyes of the deceased, it was a single coin in their mouths. Speaking of coins, they also weren't invented until XII AD

The style of helmet like the one Achilles used belong further in time, around the fourth and fifth century, as well as the rounded shields. In time of the movie, the helmets were small and the shields were light and made of leather. The swords could not be made of steel, as the setting was the Bronze Age

In the movie Troy it is presented that Paris accompanied his older brother, Héctor, when he traveled to Sparta and seduced and kidnapped Helena, thus starting the famous war. But in reality the one who accompanied Paris was Eneas.he appears at the end of the movie as a stranger that receives from Paris the emblematic sword from the kings of Troy.
