Where did the vikings come from?
They lived over one thousand years ago.
They came from the three places:
The Northment
Great travelers
Sailed to the other regions of Europe
They traded,raided and often settled .
They made beautiful objects out of wood ,metal and bronze.
Eric Bloodaxe
Throughout the Viking Age, there were many battles between the Vikings and the English. In the 9th century, the English king Alfred the Great stopped the Vikings taking over all of England. In the 10th century the English reconquered much of the land held by Vikings.
In 954, they drove out Eric Bloodaxe, the last Viking king of Jorvik. After Eric was killed in battle, the Vikings in England agreed to be ruled by England's king .He is thought to have had short-lived terms as King of Norway and twice as King of Northumbria (c. 947–948 and 952–954).

King Cnut
In Viking times, a king had to be strong to fight and keep his land. In the early AD 1000s, England had a weak king. His name was Ethelred 'the Unready'. Ethelred gave Viking raiders gold to stop their attacks. This money was called 'Danegeld'. The Vikings took the gold, but still attacked anyway. So in 1002, Ethelred's soldiers killed Viking families in the Danelaw. This made King Sweyn of Denmark so angry he invaded England. Ethelred had to run away. In 1016 Sweyn's son Cnut became king of England. Cnut (also known as Canute) was a Christian and a strong ruler. For the next few years England was part of his Viking empire, along with Denmark and Norway.

Harold claimed tha he had been given the crown on Edward´s death bed.
He was an experienced warrior and had been earl of Wessex.

Williams Duke of Normandy claimed that Edward had promised him the crown of Englan qhen Edward died.
He also clamed that Harold Godwidson swarm to supporr his claim to the throne.
William paid Harold had swarm on the bones of pain to help William become the next king of England.

A dispute over the succession to the England throne. Norman conquest of England, between the Norman-French army of Duke William II of Normandy and the English army under King Harold II.
The kings didn´t have anybody in the country ,they only have the earls.
The land is property of the king. He only borrows the land up until the death the owner.
