Anne of Green Gables

Descriptions:

1. Anne: talkative, and extremely imaginative, she is very weepy when to say her things that to offend. She was adopted, she is optimistic. She has the red hair and your face is white

2. Marilla Cuthbert: Is the sister of Matthew, she is an austere woman who tries to subdue the imaginative of Anne, unusual ways. Though she is conservative in her rules, she does love Anne and has the glimmerings of a sense of humour and a hidden soft side.

3. Matthew Cuthbert: Is the brother of Marilla, a shy.He is a good listener. Because Marilla has primary responsibility for rearing the girl, he has no qualms about spoiling her and indulging her in pretty clothes and other frivolities.

4. Diana: the bosom friend Anne and kindred spirit. Anne and Diana become best friends from the moment they meet. She is the only girl of the age of Anne who lives close to Green Gables. Anne admires Diana for being pretty and for her amiable disposition. Diana lacks Anne's powerful imagination but is a loyal friend.

5. Gilbert Blythe: A handsome classmate who tried to get Anne's attention by pulling her hair and calling her "Carrots"

6. Mrs. Rachel Lynde: A neighbor of Matthew and Marilla, and the nastiest person in town.

Analysis:

When Anne arrives in Avonlea, she is a stray waif with a pitiable past, but she quickly establishes herself in Green Gables and the Avonlea community. She is not useful to Matthew and Marilla, her guardians, who wanted a boy orphan to help out on the farm. Still, the spirit Anne brings vitality to the narrow, severe atmosphere at Green Gables. Her desire for beauty, imagination, and goodness motivates her behavior.

Although some people, like Matthew, recognize the admirable Anne qualities from the beginning, others misunderstand Anne and think her traditional behavior evidence of immorality. The very traits that make Anne unique and enrich her inner life also cause her to act passionately and stubbornly. Reveries and daydreams constantly absorb her, taking up attention that Marilla feels should be spent thinking of decorum and duty.

She imagines that which displeases her as different than what it is, dreaming up a more perfect world. As she grows older, Anne mellows. Her temper improves, she ceases to hate her looks, she appreciates the simplicity of her life and prefers it to riches, and although her imagination still serves her well, she loves the world as it is.

What I learned.

That despite your sad past can achieve many things by taking advantage of opportunities that life offers.
