Trainspotting is a British film inspired in a novel, with the same name. The meaning of Trainspoitting has 2 descriptions, one of them is a British Hobby, that is about watching the trains passing. The other meaning is about drugs, it means finding a vein to get junked (with heroin).

The characters

Mark Renton is a young boy, he is around the 20’s, he’s a heroin drugaddict, he`s handsome, but he doesn’t care about his appeareance. Pretty secure about his lifestyle sometimes, until he had been in problems because of heroin.

Spud is heroin drugaddict too, he has a girlfriend who doesn’t sex him. He’s shy, insecure, He isn’t handsome.

Sick Boy is the typical Bad Guy, selfish, egocentric and good looking. He had a baby named Dawn with his grilfriend Allison.

Tommy was the athletic and No-Drugaddict, Until He broke up with his girlfriend Lizzy, and he took into the heroin. He got AIDS. He died.

Francis is the agressive guy of the group, he always has fighting troubles, he doesn’t consume heroin.

The atmosphere is rude, the movie shows de 90’s at Edimburg, Scotland.

Actually the movie still being contemporary, because of the drugs, is a plague, how the drugs are destroying many guys around the world, also here, in Mexico. The Peer Pressure is similar, but, here in Mexico, it happens during adolescence, at hight school, when we’re growing up. At the film we see this guys are about 20’s and 30’s.

The Scotland accent I can understand it pretty easier than the british or american english.

About the film, I feel the message is how you can fight against your demons, ain’t easy, but you can do it if you try hard. Sometimes the social environment is what conditionate a person to be or not to be functional.

I really love the soundtracks, I love Iggy Pop, actually The passenger is like my sounctrack, “I am the passenger and I ride and I ride…”

The story is awesome, how the author of the novel and the director of the film expressed the weird world of drugaddicts, the fight that they pass through to quit it, or try to quit.

The rudest and impressive scene is when Dawn had been founded dead, that scene shock me very much, may be because I have a son.
