1. What are your reactions to the main page? Is it easy to read? Cluttered? Can you see at a glance how to navigate the site?
I think it could be updated to something more innovative and fun, even though the main page is pretty dynamic because of the colors, images and the presentation in general. It is easy to read, and it’s not hard to figure out how to navigate the site, but only if you speak English, because you don’t have the option to turn the page into another language visible at all, you have to press a button that says “Worldwide Sites” in which you can choose the country, to turn the page into another language. And if you don’t know anything about the company, you won’t find it in the main page; you would probably have to explore the entire website.
2. Whom does this site appear to serve? Consumers? P & G job applicants? Present employees? Retirees? Parents? Teenagers?
The page seems to serve consumers mostly, but also parents and probably entrepreneurs who already know about the company and about the products they sell. I do not think it’s for teenagers because they wouldn’t be interested in the company itself, and they could find the website a little boring, and it’s not for present employees either because there’s nothing new in the website that they don’t know about already if they’re working for the company.
3. How does P & G seek to achieve its goal of creating a dialogue with customers?
Well, first of all by showing in the website all the products they offer and by writing the information to “you” I think it’s a good way to catch the consumer’s attention, because it sounds more personal and costumers tend to like that. The website is very well organized, so while the visitor is navigating, it might as well be answering questions that he/she is asking himself/herself such as “what about social responsibility?”, the website answers the question easily because it is easy to find that area, and it goes on with many more questions since the website is pretty much complete.
