SPECIAL EFFECTS, FIREWORKS AND PYROTECHNICS
Fog effects:
1) Heated fogs
2) Cryogenic fogs
3) Mechanical fogs
• Only approved fluid can be used
• It is forbidden to add perfumes and coloured pigments
• A Health and Safety Risk assessment must be conducted on the substances used to produce the fog
• Fire-safety precautions are needed: the component of the machines can get very hot
Lasers and Ultraviolet light:
• To avoid eye injury and skin burns the exposure limits must be respected
• Positioning: a minimum height of 3 m above the highest dance platform is required
Fireworks and Pyrotechnics
• An authorisation by the Explosive Act 1875 (EA75) is required
• Home-made fireworks and Pyrotechnics are illegal: recognised manufacturer
• They can only be fired via a control system
• They can only be fired by an experienced operator
• Positioning: respect the adequate safety distances
• Inspection of the effects and their positioning is needed
CAMPING
• Provided within the event site
• Services (medical facilities, water supply, toilets) must be available for the whole length of the event 24hours a day
• SITE DESIGN: break the camping areas into smaller areas to
- allow the management of each area
- provide information and communication
• Maps and key-information must be easily available
• Provide adequate lighting (higher level of lighting toilets/information areas)
FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
• Ensure that all people with special needs are able to attend
• Facilitate the access through ramps and larger parking areas
• Provide reserved areas with a clear view of the stage
• Provide special facilities and assistance
