Causes and Effects of Unprotected Sex
Did you ever think about how five minutes of passion can affect the rest of your life? It is obvious how heritage works, every generation carries with all good and bad habits. Reproduction is a natural step of life subsistence. Sex a temptation – pleasure that all humans are exposing. In particular among the global youth having unprotected sex can greatly change the course of their life. The lack of sex education both in schools and on the family level increases the chance of these youths-teens to have unprotected sex and consequences that come with it.
It is a fact that family sexual education is very imperative, according to Bill Albert forty-six percent of teens report that parents are the biggest influence on their decisions about sex, while only 20 percent say their biggest influence is their friends. Eighty percent of teens say it would be easier to delay sex if they could have more open conversations about it with their parents. Until the day that families make the decision to have sex conversations as a priority, we will continue to see this behavior.
According to The Guardian publication made base on “unprotected sex surveys” back in 2012, reveals that (89% of the responders), two-thirds of sexually active students have had unprotected sex. Only 27% of sexually active students say they always use condoms, compared with 31% in last year's StudentBeans survey, while 35% use them sometimes and 26% just with a new partner. The survey also found that more than two-fifths of students (45%) say they wish they'd had better sex education at school. One said: "Sex education at school was pretty awful. It was nearly all really basic biology stuff that we already knew and nothing about the relationship, trust or confidence side, which I think really could have helped. Many of the students said that university life offered an opportunity to experiment sexually. One said: "It is a community of young people, all wanting to have that university experience, and sex and relationships is seen to be part of it."
Since many parents ignore the subject of sexual intercourse with their teenagers I think that is when the schools should step in and educate their students about sexual education.
I am a firm believer that in today’s society our kids should be taught about sex education in the high school level. Having an unclear responsible about teenagers having unprotected sex either because of the lack of sex education taught in school or because the lack of parents communicating with their teenagers about sexual interaction and knowing that in actuality kids are maturing at a very young age these days. Sex education is not an easy topic to speak to teenagers about ,some may even feel embarrassed about the subject but at one point or another teenagers need to be educated on it.
