Collaboration Enterprise Licensing is the new software pricing model for Unified Communications applications. The new Collaboration Enterprise License will be rolled out in phases starting on January 9, 2012 and extending over the first half of 2012, and is dependent upon the GA dates of the products.

The objectives of the new licensing are:

1) Further licensing simplification for customers and Channels

2) Incorporate new products and capabilities in a easily scalable structure

3) Spotlight Avaya’s differentiation while accelerating the adoption of new applications

4) Offer better price/value for UC solutions than the competitors

The new Collaboration Enterprise Licensing consists of 5 licensing elements that will simplify the purchase and sales of the UC applications for customers and the channel. The first 4 license elements can be purchased a la carte or “Choice” in any quantity or combination per site or enterprise wide. All the licenses are administered per user except as noted.

1) Avaya Aura Enterprise Core (available January 9, 2012). A single tier license that bundles the Avaya Aura infrastructure licenses into one SIP core infrastructure purchase.

2) Unified Messaging (available now). The current license structure for Avaya Aura Messaging or Modular Messaging is not changing.

3) Client and Mobility Licenses (available 2QCY2012). Licenses will be introduced with the availability Flare Client software.

4) Conferencing Licenses (available 2QCY2012). Licenses will be introduced with the availability of Avaya Aura Conferencing 7.0. The conferencing licenses will be sold per administered hosted user, which is a change from the concurrent port licensing of the current conferencing applications -- Meeting Exchange and Avaya Aura Conferencing 6.0.

5) Collaboration Suite License (available 2QCY2012). The Collaboration Suite License will be a single material code that bundles together the above four licensing elements. The Collaboration Suite License can be mixed in any combination or quantity of the four license elements offering the flexibility to match the customers’ adoption rate of the new applications. The Collaboration License will be priced approximately 25% less than if all the application elements were purchased a la carte.
